Zman Productions: A Musical Evolution

From Hip Hop Beats to Cinematic Scores

THE MENTAL RESET

From Original Hip Hop Producer to Cinematic Sync Composer.

BUILT FOR THE SCREEN

The cinematic energy was always there. Every beat carried drama, suspense, and story — long before sync was even on the radar. The reset wasn’t about changing sound, it was about placing it where it belonged: amplifying the screen.

ALWAYS BEEN CINEMATIC

"The cinematic tone wasn’t new—it was always in the DNA. The Mental Reset wasn’t about changing sound, it was about recognizing where that sound truly belonged: on screen, amplifying stories."

EVOLUTION

From Hip Hop Beats to Cinematic Soundscapes

The Yamaha keyboard was the beginning of the evolution. It wasn’t fancy, but it was enough to spark that fire. It gave me a canvas to sketch melodies from scratch, helping me to carry soul and funk into chords and progressions without relying on shortcuts. That keyboard was my first brush, and hip hop was already the canvas.

Together, the Yamaha and the DR-880 created the DNA of my core catalog. Out of those two devices came tracks like “Scene,” “Late Night Heist,” “Diabolical,” and “Black James Bond.” Each one was proof that originality — not imitation — was enough to craft music that sounded cinematic from day one.

Then came the Boss DR-880 drum machine, the heartbeat of my foundation. Every kick, snare, and hi-hat had to be programmed with intention, forcing me to master rhythm and pocket. There was no sampler, no borrowed sound — just me and the machine, building grooves that moved like live musicians.

The Maschine changed the game. It merged my old-school grind with modern power, opening the door to full-scale production. Suddenly, I could stack layers, sculpt arrangements, and bring out cinematic textures that lived inside the drums and melodies I was already creating. Maschine elevated my process from beatmaker to composer.

Finally, the Komplete Kontrol S49 tied it all together. This wasn’t just a keyboard — it was command central. It gave me seamless access to an entire universe of sounds, letting me perform, tweak, and shape tracks with real-time control. With Komplete Kontrol, my music stepped into widescreen — detailed, dynamic, and ready for the sync world.

Each device is a chapter. Together, they tell the story of how raw hip hop grew into a sound that is always original, always cinematic, and built for the screen.
